Today was a fun day The lesson for today was apos;The element of art COLOR." For the first 25 minutes, I engaged the students in discussion about color. They got to fill in their elements handout as we discussed the topics. After that, the students got to experiment with color. I provided them with a handout and crayons in the primary colors. They got to use these primary colors to fill in a blank color wheel, actually mixing the colors for the secondaries. In various sections of the handout, the students got to choose what color they wanted to work with, keeping in mind that if it was any color other than a primary, they had to mix it. While giving the students these choices, I actually made it where they would have to become familiar with mixing colors on each section. So, even though they could choose their favorite color in a section, they would still have to end up mixing other colors to complete the section.

Overall, it was a great day The students were excited to work with color, even if it was just crayons. I�think that most students didnapos;t realize that they could mix colors (especially with crayons) to make other colors.
